Gloucestershire’s tree strategy imagines “a thriving network of sustainably managed trees and woodlands covering at least 20% of the county, delivering resilience and connectivity for people, wildlife and the economy.” You can be a part of delivering this for the county and for the future.
The council has committed to planting 1 million trees and is now looking for landowners to come forward and offer land to plant over the course of the project. This land must be right for tree planting. We have funding to plant trees in urban areas and to extend existing woodlands. If you are interested in any of the schemes below please complete our expression of interest form.
The following funding schemes are available:
Queens Green Canopy - This initiative is to commemorate HM Queen Elizabeth II and runs until March 2023. Trees are available for community groups and schools.
Sponsor a tree - If you would like a tree planted in a particular location, either on the street outside your home or maybe in your local park our Trees for Streets campaign may be able to help.
Woodland Trust - The Woodland Trust provides trees for schools and community groups in bundles of 50.
Local Authority Treescapes Fund - GCC has funding from the Forestry Commission to plant trees on land visible to the public, please complete the expression of interest form below if you would like to find out more and would like to plant over 100 trees.
