Having been a successful middle leader in different schools, Andrew has an enormous amount of relevant experience in collaboration and developing common solutions within a school environment.
Having experience as a middle leader in a school placed in Special Measures, the time of intense scrutiny and urgent refocus of leadership has given him an invaluable insight into effective leadership strategies. Working with SLT on a number of effective collaborations brought the school out of Special Measures within a year.
Completing the Middle Leadership Development Programme at his current Grammar School has developed his skills and abilities in leadership. He is aware of what constitutes outstanding practice and is able to inspire others to be outstanding. Regularly delivering effective teaching and learning INSET sessions, Andrew is committed to developing staff in order to raise attainment.
His extensive experience of coaching staff in a range of school environments has been effective in engaging and motivating staff to reflect on and make positive changes to their practice.
As a SLE he specialises in improving Teaching and Learning within English Departments.
