I have been a teacher since 1995 and have experience of teaching Reception through to Y6. The majority of my teaching has been in KS1 and in EYFS.

Since 2010 I have been a Reception teacher and EYFS lead in two different schools. With both schools I have been on the journey from Good to Outstanding Ofsted judgements (2017 and 2019).  In my current post at Fairford C of E Primary, I am EYFS lead across nursery (from 2yrs), Pre School and Reception.  Fairford has 277 children on roll across 11 classes currently.  Our intake has grown from 30 to 45 and our EYFS children are taught in two classes in a semi open plan unit of 25/23.  We were very fortunate to move into a purpose built EYFS unit in September 2019.

I am passionate about Early Years and continually evolve my practice to improve the outcomes and experiences we offer children in the foundation stage. Talk for writing/story making has been central to my approach in EYFS and I have previously shared my practice at LA Literacy Subject Leader Network Meetings.

I have been a LA EYFS moderator and a GlosEd leader since 2017. In my GlosEd leader role, I have provided tailored support for several schools including one school in special measures.  With this school, I worked with the Reception teacher to develop a rapid action plan and over a series of six half day visits, supported her in a variety of ways: shared planning, team teaching, modelled teaching, EYFSP moderation, room planning, assessment and tracking.

I keep up to date with educational research, development and changes and recently completed my NPQML and focused upon ‘Parental Engagement in Maths in EYFS’
