I truly believe that every child has the capability to learn, enjoy and master maths. This drives my passion to ensure that classroom practice nurtures the mathematician in each pupil.

I have an active role in the Tewkesbury District Partnership, co-founding a "Life without Levels" working party. Through this, and from attending county mathematics courses, subscribing to the NCETM and numerous Maths Hubs I am able to keep to up-to-date with current research and recent developments. 

I have taught Y5 and Y6 for three years before teaching solely Y6 this year. I have undertaken the role of Mathematics Lead, Assessment Lead and Staff Governor.  During this time I have been instrumental in implementing the 2014 Curriculum across the school, and developed ways to promote mastery, through activities and assessment based on depth of understanding. Within this role I have worked with teachers on a 1:1 basis, as a whole school during Inset days and liaised frequently with Governors.

As Assessment Lead, I have developed formative assessment strategies to promote depth of understanding across the school, adapting them for the needs of specific year groups such as Early Years. I believe that the learning environment can be an integral part of AfL. In terms of summative assessment,

I have developed a system within our school for staff to collect relevant pupil information. Allowing us to carry out further analysis, looking for whole school trends, and respond accordingly.
