Jennie Woolhead, Gloucester Schools Partnership accredited by Swindon Teaching School

I entered the teaching profession late in life after many years in University administration and the oil industry.  I qualified through the Graduate Teaching Programme and gained my first post at an inner city school which became part of the Excellence cluster of schools. At this school, I became the SENCo with the added responsibility of G&T.  I went on to work with the local authority adviser for G&T to organise and contribute to training days and conferences within the county and also worked with the National Strategies on piloting e-forums.   In 2008, I was part of the leadership team setting up a new school where I am the Deputy Head with responsibility for Inclusion and Assessment.  I have a strong pastoral basis to my practice including line management for: four Heads of Key Stages ensuring quality first teaching, the SENCo and her team of teaching assistants, and two full time learning mentors.
