I have taught for 15 years across all key stages and have been moderated in Reception, Year 2 and Year 6. I am currently (2016-17) English lead and Year 2 class teacher. I have successfully completed the aspirational middle leadership course and am part of a team of four schools working closely with Pie Corbett on leading Talk for Writing across the school.
I have been part of a middle leadership team which led my school out of ‘Special Measures’ to ‘Good’.
I have introduced and created a scheme of work, literature spine and SPAG toolkit that is used across the school to ensure an integrated approach to reading, writing and SPAG. Talk for Writing is now embedded in my school in a way that works for our children and teachers.
I am involved in a cycle of whole school monitoring of teaching, planning, assessment and pupil progress. Regular book scrutiny and learning walks means there is a consistent approach used throughout the school in terms of marking (success criteria), target setting and moderation of work.
Within my leadership role I have organised good practice workshops for several other schools and held CPD meetings for my own and other schools with a focus on Talk for Writing.
