Teaching background
- I am currently the PPA teacher at St White’s Primary school in Cinderford.
- I originally trained as a secondary drama teacher-teaching Drama and Dance at KS3, GCSE Drama at KS4 and A Level Drama and Theatre Studies at KS5.
- From 2011-2015 I was teaching EYFS at the International School of Oman. Teaching English.
- Upon return from the Middle East, I transitioned to teach UK primary.
Subject leader experience
- Implementing clubs and opportunities for drama throughout the school.
- Monitoring Arts plans and facilitating learning walks.
- Supporting staff to develop opportunities for drama within other subject areas.
- Application and implementation of the ArtsMark award.
- Support to design a drama curriculum overview.
- Trained and verified Arts award provider.
- Support teachers to feel confident in enabling pupils to participate in the artistic practice of drama.(NC)
- Raising the profile of the arts at St White’s Primary school.
- Building successful relationships with local Arts organisations.
Support
I can offer support in a range of areas:
- How to use drama to promote pupils’ use of spoken language - giving pupils opportunity to justify ideas with reasons, develop vocabulary, build knowledge, negotiate, evaluate and build upon the ideas of others. (NC)
- How to build a drama curriculum overview and support staff to find opportunities for teaching Drama within other subjects.
- Using oracy and drama techniques to facilitate other learning. (NC)
- How to generate opportunities for, support and maintain drama clubs in school
- Support schools maximise the learning opportunities of school productions.
