Linda is an experienced secondary and primary teacher as well as a past LA consultant for Gloucestershire, where she devised and delivered a wide range of training for primary and secondary members of staff. This training included training for teaching assistants, special school staff, teachers teaching languages from scratch, primary languages subject leaders, Foreign Language Assistants and secondary teachers delivering languages in primary schools. She also ran cluster meetings for primary teachers to support them through the year, providing ideas and resources tailored to their needs. During this time, she became Head of the International Education Office, supporting international school partnerships in both primary and secondary phases.
Linda has recently worked as South West Mentor on a government-funded languages programme, where she supported primary and secondary teachers as they developed examples of good practice in response to the latest Ofsted report on language teaching. She also led on a programme looking at communication and interaction in Special Schools. She delivers primary languages training on teacher training programmes and for Local Authorities as well as working with individual schools, teachers and pupils. She is a member of a national working party promoting primary languages and the National Association of Languages Advisers.
