Profile

I have been SENDCO of a large mainstream primary school since 2014 and am now an assistant headteacher (acting).

I believe that inclusion should be a driving force in all policies and practices in schools and have been lucky enough to be encouraged to act as an advocate for SEND pupils in this way.

In my time at Leckhampton I have worked closely with all staff to develop an inclusive culture where all children thrive. This has included bespoke professional development for teachers as well as coaching and mentoring to ensure high quality teaching meets the needs of all pupils.  I have also undertaken a long term project to develop the use of teaching assistants throughout the school, based on the work of Rob Webster.

Areas of expertise

 Inclusion
Making inclusion central to all policies and practices within school, including strategic overview and effective working with senior leadership team.
Making the best use of teaching assistants. A structured approach to implementing change and creating a development programme.
Creating an inclusive culture. Developing teaching staff’s understanding and skills to meet the needs of all children within the classroom, including training packages.
