I have been teaching for 8 years. With 4 years spent in Reception and 4 in year 2.
I have recently experienced KS1 Assessment Moderation, where the moderator was very happy with our assessment arrangements and levelling, with the use of partial APP in reading and full APP in writing.
I have introduced and developed the tracking of Vulnerable Groups throughout the school, with details of actions and interventions to ensure that we are proactive in 'Closing the Gaps'. 'Pupil Progress Meetings' are held 3 times per year in order to ensure that these groups are closely monitored.
Assessment for Learning is at the heart of all my teaching, including: the use of talk buddies, marking to move the learner on, the use of 'Steps to Success', higher lever questioning, annotating planning and ensuring that the pupils know their next steps.
I have most recently supported colleagues in school through developing our whole school Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar progression; developing a 'Class Reader' list to fit with topics taught; held staff meetings about the teaching and implementation of Letters and Sounds and ideas for Talk for Writing.
