Discover is a graphical analysis tool which allows users to interrogate data from within SIMS and present it in a highly visual way using the latest technology.
Discover is a graphical analysis tool which allows users to interrogate data from within SIMS and present it in a highly visual way using the latest technology. Discover uses a unique interface allowing users to simply 'drag and drop' from pre-defined categories to create graphical analysis such as progression lines, bar charts and Venn diagrams. The user is able to click on the graphs to drill down to individual student data and identify target groups. You can easily compare results against pupils using data from SIMS.net, for example pupils with free school meal eligibility, attendance or behavioural issues and EAL. Discover is a valuable analysis tool for school leaders which will make the experience of accessing information intuitive, perceptive and quick, with the focus of helping your school to raise standards and evaluate student performance and attainment.
Who should attend?
For those wishing to gain an insight into how Discover can use existing data from SIMS including attendance and behaviour information please choose the Discover Overview half day option - School Leaders, School Administrators, Attendance Officers, SEN Co-ordinators
For those wishing to use Discover to analyse assessment data, please speak to the SIMS support team for more information.
How will I benefit?
The half day course provides an overview of graphs available in Discover including how to further analyse this data and create dynamic groups.
What will I learn?
By the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of:
- The Discover Interface including the range of pre-defined graphs.
- Manipulating graphical data.
- How to create Venn diagrams.
- How to create user defined user groups and alerts.
