SIMS Interventions enables schools to enrol students/pupils who are not achieving or behaving as expected on a course of intervention measures. It is possible to allocate additional resources, monitor the use of these resources and gauge how they affect Key Performance Indicators. The cost of these resources can also be recorded to track the cost of the intervention measure against overall effectiveness and the resulting improved student/pupil outcomes.
Who should attend?
- Staff involved in the planning, implementation and review of interventions that form part of the schools strategies for Assessment, Attendance and Behaviour/Achievement.
How will I benefit?
- The cost, benefit and overall effectiveness on pupil performance can be analysed and compared to other interventions. In-depth analysis can be performed of individual intervention effectiveness for different groups, for example ethnicity and pupil premium. It will also provide an individual pupil summary of which interventions are most effective.
What will I learn?
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- define interventions, capture and understand basic cost information
- set up when the intervention will take place, who will run it and allocate students to the intervention for a specific period of time
- add an intervention to an individual student, record targets and analyse whether the intervention has been effective for that student
- review which intervention is the most effective
- view/edit all interventions against an individual student
- analyse the intervention group in Discover
- analyse intervention information in an Assessment Marksheet and the Programme of Study area
- create reports on the interventions including analysis reports to provide to Ofsted or an LA as evidence of which interventions have been the most effective for certain students
