A Timetabler's module designed to assist the Timetabler in designing a curriculum plan and using that plan to construct a timetable.

This two day course uses Nova-T6 a timetabling package to plan and construct the timetable.

Who should attend?

Timetabler. This course assumes a knowledge of timetable principles, as theory will not be covered on the course.

How will I benefit?

You will:

  • Be able to produce the timetable using the powerful auto scheduling routine which includes the ability to specify resources, constraints and priorities.
  • Be able to identify poorly distributed classes and suggest improvements.
  • Have the opportunity to work on a standalone version of Nova-T6 which can be installed on any PC allowing you to work independently of the school network.
  • Understand how the structure of the curriculum plan impacts on your school and works with academic data in SIMS.

What will I learn?

By the end of the 2 day course, you should be able to:

  • Setup / edit the timetable cycle.
  • Setup and manage basic data, including subjects, teachers and rooms.
  • Create a curriculum model and analyse the curriculum plan.
  • Allocate resources to classes, setup scheduling constraints and non-class codes.
  • Use manual and automatic scheduling processes.
  • Optimise the timetable.
  • Produce reports and timetable printouts from Nova-T6.
  • Assign class levels and appreciate how this impacts on SIMS Course Manager
  • Export the data to SIMS for daily use in school.
  • Produce timetable printouts.
