This one day course covers the maintenance of students' Special Educational Needs records within the SEN area of SIMS.

Who should attend?

Special Needs Co-ordinators, SEND Administrators.

How will I benefit?

You will:

  • Use the SEN module to its full potential and customise it according to your school's needs.
  • Appreciate the benefits of recording SEND data electronically over and above the statutory requirement to satisfy the School Census returns.
  • Use the links menu to look at student personal information, attendance, assessment, behaviour, achievement and timetable (Secondary only).
  • Produce reports and letters.

What will I learn?

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Customise SEN module and lookup tables.
  • Add / edit SEND records to include status, needs, provisions, events, statements and reviews.
  • Use linked adults and agencies.
  • Record gifted and talented students.
  • Produce mail merge letters and SEND reports.
