Academic Mentors and Tuition Partners - 2021/22


On 8 September, the Department for Education (DfE) released further guidance about how schools can apply for Academic Mentors and Tuition Partners for this academic year.

Guidance on Academic Mentors

This year the eligibility criteria is:

  • Schools in one of the qualifying local authority districts prioritised for raising school standards. Qualifying districts in Gloucestershire are Forest of Dean and Gloucester.
  • Schools not based in a qualifying area but have a higher than average percentage of pupils eligible for free school meals and pupil premium may also be eligible.


95% of the cost is subsidised this year.


Guidance on Tuition Partners

The subsidy rate for this year will be 70%.
