Important Process Up-dates
Following the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy last year we’ve been working with a range of schools and training providers on their requirements and as a result we’ve up-dated the process for schools, the revised version is attached.
The key message is to emphasise that the school must NOT sign the training provider’s contract directly with them. Instead the council has a standard, tri partite, contract that will include the school, the training provider and the council. If the school enters into a contract directly with the training provider then unfortunately the training cannot be paid from the levy. The council will not accept the training provider’s contract and therefore training providers must agree to use the council’s standard contract. We have agreement in place with several local providers who are happy with the contract and are aware of the process for schools so this should enable us to overcome some of the initial teething problems we’ve been experiencing.
