Barriers to School Attendance – New Resource

Published
04.03.2022

New online guidance is available for school staff and parents/carers to support children and young people experiencing barriers attending school.

This guidance has been developed for school staff and parents/carers by the Educational Psychology Service working with multi-agency partners.

Schools can access the Online guide here:

Guidance to support children and young people experiencing barriers attending school - Gloucestershire County Council

The online guidance considers the reasons why children and young people might struggle to attend school and what supporting adults can do to help them. It also signposts to other agencies and organisations that can help.

Training for educational settings in this area will follow the launch of the guidance. Further information about this will be provided shortly.

Please take time to review the resource and provide feedback using the evaluation form.
