Bear Us In Mind: A Psychological Toolkit For Children

Published
23.06.2022

Bear Us In Mind has been created to support and provide psychological tools for children who may be experiencing trauma or grief, especially due to displacement and/or bereavement. It is led by Julie Stokes OBE, an expert in palliative care and Founding Patron of children’s charity Winston’s Wish.

After the outbreak of war in Ukraine in early 2022, we all saw how the resulting conflict impacted tens of thousands of children through separation, grief and loss. Bear Us In Mind has been launched to provide psychological support to those children and the adults in their lives.

Beyond Bear Us In Mind’s more urgent need for those impacted by the war in Ukraine, it offers a toolkit for children everywhere and in any circumstance; whether it’s a result of conflict, bereavement, separation, bullying or abuse, or any of the multiple factors that can impact a child’s mental health.

Whether you’re a parent, part of a host family or a supporting adult from the child’s school or local community, Bear Us In Mind is designed to help you provide critical support to a child when it’s most needed.

There is a finite number of gift tool kids available, however the charity can provide guidance and instructions on building your own tool kit if you’re unlucky not to receive a bespoke charity gift.

Bear us in Mind is launching on 27th June 2022, their website is www.bearusinmind.org.uk which is live from 22nd June.
