DfE Educational Setting Status Form

Published
08.09.2021

The Department for Education (DfE) continues to request the daily return of the Educational Setting Status Form by 2pm. This data is used nationally and locally to enable services to be available to support people with COVID and for the local authority to put in place measures to help prevent the spread of COVID through schools.

The local authority also uses this data to track attendance of our vulnerable pupils in order to support schools with their safeguarding responsibilities around these pupils.

From 1st October the intention of the DfE is that this will change to a weekly submission, however this will be dependent on the COVID numbers; if they rise this may return to daily.

The use of sub codes for the X code will be supported by a patch in SIMS as in other Management Information Systems, and this will support the completion of the return.

If you have any queries in relation to the completion of the return please contact your Inclusion Officer or call Education Inclusion on 01452 427274.
