Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006

The Department of Education has revised the guidance on Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006 which comes into effect on 31st August 2018.

Please refer to Annex A of the guidance for the summary of changes to the arrangements. 

There is no immediate change but once the new Regulations come into effect on 31 August, the ‘Disqualification by association’ provisions will no longer apply in non-domestic childcare setting, e.g. schools, nurseries.
