Free Gloucestershire 'Visits and Visitors Guide' to support Religious Education in your school

Published
11.02.2019

The Gloucestershire Visits and Visitors Guide takes some of the effort out of planning visits by providing the key information you need to get started.

High-quality RE includes taking opportunities for pupils to visit places of worship, and inviting in people of faith and belief for pupils to question. The Visits and Visitors Guide gives up-to-date information, contact details for visits and recommends some religious and non-religious speakers who will visit your school.

The value of encounter in RE to break down barriers, promote respect and understanding, and deepen learning has long been recognised (see e.g. https://www.natre.org.uk/about-natre/projects/the-shared-space-project/). Use the Guide to support your pupils’ personal, spiritual and academic development through visits and visitors in RE.
