Free Modern Slavery training available for all GCC staff and partners
All public sector organisations all hold responsibilities to report modern slavery - can you spot the signs?
Gloucestershire Anti Slavery Partnership (GASP) has launched training for all staff on LearnPro.
All public sector organisations all hold responsibilities to report when they see signs of slavery or human trafficking, so as part of the commitment to stamp out modern slavery in Gloucestershire GASP has made a ten minute training module available on LearnPro council. In 2018, 61 potential victims of modern slavery and human trafficking were identified in Gloucestershire. However, the picture is not complete as modern slavery often goes unreported.
There is a module for frontline staff, such as teachers, officers with safeguarding responsibilities and employees who work daily with members of the public, containing a lot more detail and lasting about 15 - 20 minutes.
The non-front line staff module is an introduction to the issue, covering how to seek further support and report your concerns. This eLearning module will:
- Provide some practical information on the types, indicators and signs of modern slavery
- Outline your role in preventing, tackling, and responding to modern slavery.
There is an assessment with five questions at the end and a pass mark is 80 per cent.
To access the eLearning, all users need to create a free LearnPro council account or log-in to their existing account using this link: https://community.learnprouk.com
You will be asked what organisation you work/volunteer for and then your job role; you will then have access to the relevant modern slavery modules (under All Courses A-Z). Check out this guide to setting up LearnPro for more details
