Free Ofsted Curriculum Roadshow for teachers and leaders with curriculum responsibility - 17 June 2022

Following the success of the Ofsted curriculum leaders roadshows in September 2021, we are delighted to have Simon Rowe, Senior HMI, joining us on Friday 17 June at the Cheltenham Chase Hotel in Shurdington to work with middle leaders and those with curriculum responsibility on the findings of Ofsted’s research.  We are able to offer up to three spaces per school.

Please note this has very similar content to the headteacher briefing and pitched at those who are in the middle tier of leadership

We have now seen Ofsted return to conducting routine inspections of schools. Under the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), you will be aware that inspectors meet with middle/curriculum leaders to discuss the intent of the curriculum within a subject, how this intent is translated through implementation in the classroom and the impact this has on pupils knowing more and remembering more of the curriculum.

In the South West region, Ofsted ran some curriculum roadshows prior to the launch of EIF and one more recently in September 2021. These were well attended but they are conscious many of the attendees were senior leaders. On speaking to senior leaders, many have commented that middle/curriculum leaders would welcome some input from Ofsted on their research findings into the curriculum and to support their understanding of the EIF.

In light of this, Ofsted are planning to deliver a series of curriculum roadshows across each South West local authority for middle/curriculum leaders and we are fortunate to secure Simon Rowe, Senior HMI to work with our middle and curriculum leaders.

Places are limited to up to three per school. This will enable practical discussion on tables for middle leaders. Please book your team on the same session whenever possible – either AM or PM. Places can be booked via GCC Plus.

Please note, as a local authority we will be offering a follow up session with practical ideas and practical examples from a school recently judged as outstanding for their curriculum. A separate invite will be sent for this event.
