Recommendations and guidance for home visits to vulnerable students.
To reduce the risk of virus transmission it’s recommended to:
- Complete a thorough Risk Assessment ahead of the visit using your professional judgement of the risk
- Ensure all attendees are symptom free ahead of the meeting
- Ask other members of the household to remain in a separate room at all times where possible
- Ensure the meeting is socially distanced at all times as per guidance
- Use the correct PPE; face masks should be worn at all times, take sanitiser and used frequently along with hand washing
- Increase ventilation by opening windows
- Keep the meeting as short as possible
- Staff members and students should be encouraged to complete LFD tests following current guidance
- Wipe clean touch points such as chairs, tables, door handles if possible using household cleaner or sanitising wipes
A useful home visit flow chart and information for correct use of PPE can be found in the PPE booklet.
