Introduction to Gloucestershire’s Social Work Academy

Published
17.07.2019

Gloucestershire County Council has launched its new Social Work Academy and will be inviting schools to visit the Academy as part of the monthly visits to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

For schools that have already visited the MASH, you will receive an invitation to attend a one off event to visit the Social Work Academy for an introduction on the 22/10/19.

The Gloucestershire Social Work Academy offers leadership of practice to develop outstanding social workers and social work leaders who affect positive changes for children, young people and families. The Academy is responsible for providing a welcoming and meaningful introduction to working in Children’s Services, optimising the many attractions of working for Gloucestershire County Council. It aims to also ensure that staff receive the highest quality Continuing Professional Development that impacts directly on improving the life experiences of children, young people and families. Aligned with this, it will provide Quality Assurance for practice across Children’s Services. The Academy will also support staff with their professional accreditation responsibilities and career progression options.
