Never Such Innocence charity

Never Such Innocence is a national charity set up to engage children and young people with the First World War commemorations.

The charity runs a poetry and art competition for 9-16 year olds which was piloted in England in 2014. Due to the success of the poetry and art competition, they introduced a musical strand, Songs of the Centenary, in 2016.

The charity provides an educational resource, which is designed as a child-friendly journey through the First World War. It is free of charge and it is also available as a free download from the website here.

During the last academic year Never Such Innocence received poems, artwork, and songs from over 1,900 children. As they enter the final year of the centenary they want to ensure that the competition is as far-reaching and inclusive as possible and invite entries from Gloucestershire schools.
