Published
07.04.2017

The DfE and STA have launched a public consultation exercise  about the future of the primary assessment system in England.

The main themes are:

  • the best starting point to measure progress that pupils make at primary school;
  • the role and operation of teacher assessment (TA);
  • how to build on the strengths of the EYFSP;
  • how to support and improve KS1/KS2 TA, including the assessment of writing.

There is a parallel consultation on assessment arrangements for pupils working below the standard of national curriculum tests
