Short break carers needed for children with disabilities

Published
19.11.2019

Please share our need for short break carers to provide small amounts of care to children with disabilities. Both day and overnight carers are needed-usually at weekends and during holidays. The Family Link Plus team are interested in any event where we could engage with staff. We have a recruitment information stand.

There are many families in Gloucestershire caring for their disabled children who are in real need of any time you can give. This could be a regular teatime after school, a day at the weekend or overnight care. Children are given new opportunities and build up relationships outside their immediate family.

We welcome applicants with experience of caring for children with disabilities and special educational needs, but this is not essential. Training and support are provided, as well as payment to cover all the costs of caring. All we ask is an understanding of children’s needs and a willingness to embrace new challenges. We would love to hear from you.
