Support Staff Pay Award 2018 - 2020
The pay increases are agreed nationally by the Local Government Association in negotiation with the Trades Unions. We have just received confirmation of a two year pay deal for Green Book employees.
From 1 April 2018 employees on grades B to L will receive at least 2% increase.
For employees on the lower pay points, 6 to 19, which are grades B to F (except for the top three spinal column points of grade F, which are points 20 to 22) the percentage pay award is greater than 2%. For employees on the top three spinal column points of grade F to grade L a flat rate increase of 2% has been applied.
The Business Service Centre (BSC) has written out to schools, that they provide a payroll service to, about the processing of the pay increase. Details of the new pay rates, effective from 1 April 2018, are available in the Pay section of the Employment Handbook on Schoolsnet. This information is also attached below.
The second year of the award, to be applied from April 2019, has been agreed to accommodate future increases to the national living wage. Again at least 2% is applied with those on the lower grades receiving a higher increase. More information will follow during the year.
