UK Youth Parliament Elections - nominations open
Nominations are now open for students (11-18) to stand as candidate in the upcoming Youth Parliament Elections to represent their peers across the county. Deadline for nominations is Monday 31 January. A workshop for prospective candidates will be held on 22 January.
UK Youth Parliament provides opportunities for 11-18 year olds to use their elected voice to bring about social change through meaningful representation and campaigning. It’s a great opportunity to engage students in active citizenship in their schools and local communities. It also provides an experience of local and national (non partisan) politics representing their peers on issues that matter most to young people.
Three Members of Youth Parliament will be elected in March to represent Cheltenham/Tewkesbury; Gloucester/Forest; and Stroud/Cotswolds.
A support worker is provided by Gloucestershire Youth Support Team with lots of opportunities to attend events and deliver campaigns via the British Youth Council.
Attached is a poster with key dates as well as a candidates pack for any interested young people.
