Parkinson's - Roy & Diane's Story

The Telecare team were invited by Roy and Diane to film a 45 minute sit down talk. To discuss how Roy’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s has  affected their lives and the role Telecare equipment  has had in supporting them.

This was the first time we had shot a long form video from a service user perspective. We hoped to create an accessible piece of original content, that gave a real account of Parkinson’s and it’s impact upon their life. From the day to day changes, receiving the initial diagnosis and finally the different support they have both needed up to this point.

The aim of this video is to create an engaging message for the public, partnership agencies and stakeholder’s. To raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease, reduce the stigma around receiving a diagnosis and to highlight the many types of support available to sufferers and carer’s alike.

We hope this will encourage people to seek support through from Parkinson’s Support Groups and local Telecare provider’s to help people stay safe and independent at home.
