The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)

The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)

Children with a social worker are more likely to experience social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) issues than their peers.

For these children and young people, we would suggest that the school completes a SDQ assessment e support of their Social Worker to gain a useful insight into the young person’s strengths and areas needing support, especially within their SEMH needs. Many schools have a Senior Mental Health Lead for making links with mental health services.

Refer to our Mental health and wellbeing page for more information and links to available support.

Refer to our SDQ page to support your assessment.
