UPDATE: Restrictions on emails have been lifted

We now have sufficient confidence our systems and servers have not been affected by the recent cyber attack on our ICT provider, Sopra Steria, that we have lifted the block on external emails.

As you would expect, there are a large number of emails that have been quarantine but work is well under way to release them and should be completed by the end of tomorrow (Friday).

Thank you for your patience and support whilst we have worked to safely resolve the situation.

Inserting YouTube videos

Umbraco has a very simple way to place YouTube video in a page

Finding the embed link on YouTube

First find your video - it doesn't matter whether it's in the YouTube site or embedded elsewhere as long as you can see the share arrow when you hover over the video.

The link you need is shown when you click "Share" - you can right-click it and copy the link

Embedding the YouTube video in Umbraco

  1. Go to (or create) a blank line where you need to embed the video
  2. Hit the "Embed" button [embed button]
  3. In the sidebar paste the YouTube share link in the Url field
    embed url
  4. Hit "Retreive" and Umbraco will check to see whether it can embed the video
  5. The sidebar will preview the player for your video
(It is possible to change the size but there are some issues with the script at the moment which may cause a blank player)

  6. Submit and your video will appear in a player on the page

If it really needs to be larger - contact digital@gloucestershire.gov.uk and we will tweak it for you
