Adult Education in Gloucestershire

Adult Education aims to enable adults in Gloucestershire to use learning to improve their lives and those of their families through personal development and enhanced skills for employment. Every year thousands of adults sign up for our courses, including:

The MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment in each of a maximum of three separate financial years. You are reminded that ELC funding is only available for pursuit of higher level learning i.e. for courses that result in a nationally recognised qualification at Level three or above on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (England, Northern Ireland and Wales), a Level six or above on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) or, if pursued overseas, an approved international equivalent qualification with an approved learning provider. The Veterans Farm Able Foundation

Step Together

Recovery and rehabilitation through volunteering. Each year, Step Together helps over 300 wounded, injured and sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans across the UK to rebuild their lives. The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is a partnering agreement between the Ministry of Defence and Right Management Ltd, who are global career development and outplacement specialists and part of the ManpowerGroup. Hire a Hero

Hire a Hero supports Service Leavers and Veterans to make the successful transition into civilian life. Trained Hire a Hero staff, mentors and volunteers work with Service Leavers and Veterans to help them make the right choices through the transition period. The remit of Hire a Hero is to cover training, housing and care plans as well as employment for past, present and future service leavers. The Warrior Programme is a three day motivation and training programme with 1`2 months structured support and signposting. It runs residential programmes in London, SW and NW for Veterans and adult family members of Veterans. The programme is ideally suited to individuals who are: not fulfilling their potential, frustrated, angry, guilty, unsure, lacking in confidence, struggling with the transition post operations in civvy street or returning to ‘normality’.
