Adult Education aims to enable adults in Gloucestershire to use learning to improve their lives and those of their families through personal development and enhanced skills for employment. Every year thousands of adults sign up for our courses, including:

The MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment in each of a maximum of three separate financial years. They offer assistance through our programmes to all serving personnel and veterans and assist you in enhancing your careers both inside the wire and outside in the civilian world. Hire a Hero supports Service Leavers and Veterans to make the successful transition into civilian life. Trained Hire a Hero staff, mentors and volunteers work with Service Leavers and Veterans to help them make the right choices through the transition period. The remit of Hire a Hero is to cover training, housing and care plans as well as employment for past, present and future service leavers. The Warrior Programme is a three day motivation and training programme with 1`2 months structured support and signposting. It runs residential programmes in London, SW and NW for Veterans and adult family members of Veterans. The programme is ideally suited to individuals who are: not fulfilling their potential, frustrated, angry, guilty, unsure, lacking in confidence, struggling with the transition post operations in civvy street or returning to ‘normality’.
