Veterans Peer Support

A trained peer support outreach service for Veterans and family members. Scrubditch Care Farm Project

Scrubditch Care Farm is located between Woodmancote and North Cerney, four miles north of Cirencester; it is based on Scrubditch Farm which is a family run business with mainly sheep and cattle. The care farm provides farming-based activities for adults and young people with learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, or mental health problems. Willow Trust...freedom for disabled people on the water

We operate two boats on the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal from Saul Junction, ten miles south of Gloucester. Gloucestershire Disabled Anglers Club

The Gloucestershire Disabled Anglers' Association was founded in 1983 to provide disabled people with a recreational and sporting outlet, to improve their quality of life. Gloucestershire Wheels for all

Our Gloucestershire Wheels for All project runs inclusive cycling sessions for disabled and non-disabled people alike to get together and enjoy the benefits of getting on a bike.  We offer sessions five days a week in partnership with Cycling Projects.  The sessions take place at our two off-road locations: the Blackbridge Jubilee Athletics Track in Gloucester; and at the Cannop Cycle Centre, with Pedalabikeaway, in the beautiful Forest of Dean.  We have a wide range of three- and four-wheeled bikes including wheelchair transporters, recumbent trikes, companion bikes and hand cycles.  Accessible Cycling Venue, Blackbridge Jubilee Athletics Track, Podsmead, Gloucester, GL2 5AB and Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre, Cannop Valley, Coleford, GL16 7EH  Telephone 07393 867572  Email: gloucestershirewheelsforall@leonardcheshire.org

Discounts for veterans

BITE (BITE card)

A discount card which gives you discount when travelling by rail on all rail station brands.  Provides discounts on rail station brands (i.e. station cafes) for all servicemen and women, veterans and families. Discount cards are free of charge. 

Blue Light Card

The discount service for the Emergency Services, NHS and Armed Forces.  Blue Light Card provides discounts online and on the high street through a physical Blue Light Card. Sign up for free.

Defence Discount Service

The only official discount service for the Armed Forces and veterans community.  Provides nationwide discounts on a wide variety of places such as car insurance, Vue cinema etc. Serving servicemen and women (including reservists) and their families can apply for a card. Veterans, cadets and bereaved families can also apply. There is a small fee for the discount card and members need to supply proof of their affiliation with the Armed Forces.

DDS Cars

DDS Cars is an official car supplier for the Defence Discount Service, the Ministry of Defence’s ONLY official discount service.

Forces Discount

Forces Discount offers companies an excellent platform to exhibit their deals, discounts and offers to the UK Armed Forces and Military communities. Forces Discount works directly with a range of businesses to bring you exclusive Military discounts for anything from your next holiday or day trip out, to a brand new car and insurance cover. Discounts are advertised on their website and must be printed for use. Tickets for Troops

Tickets for Troops provide free tickets to members of the Armed Forces for a variety of sporting, musical and cultural events. The service offers servicemen and women and

those medically discharged from the forces since 2001, the well deserved opportunity to enjoy an event of their choice with their friends and families.  Serving servicemen and women must have a valid MoD 90 (Service ID Card) and Service ID number to register and use the tickets available on this site. Surf Action

Surf Action is a charity dedicated to supporting military veterans including TA and reservists and their families, especially those affected by PTSD and physical injuries or struggling to re-adjust to civilian life. They provide a community, a place to share experiences and support to move forward. Frampton-on-Severn Sailing Club

Located at one end of the longest village green in England, the sailing club is idyllically set. As well as racing on Sundays we have a Wednesday evening series which runs through the summer. Bowmoor Sailing Club

We are a family friendly club offering Dinghy Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing and Open Water Swimming. The Club has a year round racing programme together with one of the largest Youth Fleets in the country. We are an RYA Recognised Training Centre and the first Club to achieve Volvo Champion Club status. As well as our Racing and Training programmes we can offer social camping and caravanning. Help for Heroes Sports Recovery

Help for Heroes run three distinct pathways within the Sports Recovery programme which include a Recreational Pathway, an Employment, Education and Training Pathway and the Performance Pathway. Gloucestershire Outdoor Group

Gloucestershire Outdoor Group was started in 1952 and currently has over 100 members. We are a social walking group which offers walks, weekends away, and a wide range of other outdoor activities.  Programme of events are organised to fit around working commitments. Events include; Thursday walks, Sunday walks and weekends to Youth Hostels, cottages, bunkhouses and camping in the Summer months.
