Who's who at Gloucestershire Archives: Click the download link on the right to see photographs of our teams! Save Our Sudeley Appeal: good news! Thanks to generous support from the public and grants from the MLA/V&A Purchase Fund and The Friends of the National Libraries, we have been able to purchase the Sudeley Archive. This is one of our oldest collections, deposited at Gloucestershire Archives in 1965. It contains unique evidence for the Hanbury-Tracy family's estate based in and around Toddington and contains documents dating from the 14th century. Earlier this year, its owner announced his intention to withdraw it and there was a risk that it would disappear from public access. The Friends of Gloucestershire Archives helped launch an appeal to save it for the county. Please see our online catalogue for full details of the collection (reference D2153). If you would like to support us in purchasing archives at risk in the future, please send your donation made payable to 'The Friends of Gloucestershire Archives' c/o Gloucestershire Archives, Clarence Row, Alvin Street, Gloucester, GL1 3DW. Inhuman Traffic: virtual exhibition and web resource Inhuman Traffic is a project by Gloucestershire Archives and partners that marks the 200th anniversary of the abolition of British involvement in the transatlantic slave trade. The exhibition will be touring the county and at some venues will include a live performance interpreting aspects of slavery. For more information contact Gloucestershire Archives.
