Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (England) is suitable for learners to develop the fundamental technical skills and underpinning knowledge and understanding required to become competent in the job role.
This covers the following areas:
- ways of working,
- safeguarding,
- mental capacity and restrictive
practice, - duty of care,
- effective communication,
- handling information,
- person-centred practice,
- choice and independence,
- health and wellbeing,
- equality, diversity,
- inclusion and human rights,
- health and safety,
- infection prevention and control,
- continuous development and personal wellbeing
The qualification will also help individuals develop appropriate professional attitudes and behaviours that will support personal success in their job role and the long-term success of their organisation.
This qualification requires the completion of thirteen mandatory units and additional optional units up to a minimum of 18 credits.

- Safeguarding in Adult Care
- Mental Capacity and Restrictive Practice for Adult Care
- Duty of Care in Adult Care
- Effective Communication in Adult Care
- Handling Information in Adult Care
- Person-centred Practice for Adult Care
- Choice and Independence, Health and Wellbeing for Adult Care
- Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights in Adult Care
- Health and Safety (General and Topics) for Adult Care
- Infection Prevention and Control in Adult Care
- Continuous Development when Working in Adult Care
- Personal Wellbeing when Working in Adult Care
To be eligible for this qualification you must:
- be 19 or over and do not already have a level 3 qualification
- already have a level 3 qualification or higher but earn below the National Living Wage annually (£25,000)
- have lived in the UK for three or more years.
