This level 2 diploma is designed to provide leaners with a foundation in understanding the development and care of babies and young children from birth to seven years old, with a particular focus on the Early Years phase from birth to age 5.

Key areas of learning include:

  • Legislation, policy and procedures for working in Early Years settings
  • Safeguarding and welfare 
  • Supporting learning through play 
  • Supporting special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Promoting health and wellbeing 

Alongside the key areas of learning this diploma equips learners with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to work confidently and competently within the Early Years Foundation Stage. Upon completion, learners will be recognised as qualified Early Years Practitioners, ready to support young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a variety of early years settings.

This Level 3 Diploma supports learners to build confidence within key educational support roles. It aims to develop transferable skills and professional behaviours in order effectively carry out the core responsibilities required.

In addition this diploma supports care professionals in working effectively within teams and adhering to agreed ways of working. This includes following workplace standards, policies and protocols as well as upholding the Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers and Health Care Support Workers in England. 

This Level 2 diploma is designed to support in building upon existing experience and developing essential knowledge and technical skills within adult care roles.
