Brickhampton Golf Course to M5 Overbridge- Completed April 2024

M5 Overbridge to Brickhampton Golf course Elmbridge Court Roundabout to M5 Overbridge Staverton, consists of a two-way cycle track on the northern side of the B4063.

Due to width restraint at the Staverton connection, a small section of ‘shared use path’ for both cyclists and pedestrians has been used (i.e. a cycle track people can walk on, not a footway people can cycle on).

  • Fully segregated two-way cycleway – at widths of between 2 to 3m
  • Buffer to provide a safe physical gap between cyclists and motorists
  • Pedestrian footway – widths between 1.5 and 3m
  • New improved ramped access to private driveways.
  • Carriageway will be narrowed to no less than 3m each way.
  • Bus stop’s location will be a mixture of carriageway and layby to minimise disruption of bus services
  • Priority cycle path crossings at major road junctions
  • New cycle and pedestrian Crossings at key locations

You can also view our 'You Said, We Did' results from the consultation for sections 2-4 between Elmbridge Court Roundabout and Arle Court carried out during spring 2021.

After a comprehensive procurement process, Montel Civil Engineering were appointed to carry out these works. A ‘Meet the Contractor’ event was held by Montel in September 2022 where the county council and the contractor shared how the works will be managed and delivered.
