National Cycle Route 41 is not straightforward or well signposted between Oxstalls and Elmbridge Court.
The Greyhound Gardens/Nine Elms Road plan shows a one-way cycle lane crossing the junction from Nine Elms Road towards Greyhound Gardens, but no access to start of that lane is shown. Highway code states you must not cycle on the pavement, but this is the only means of access at this location.
There are a number of 'not spots' in the network where the needs of cyclists are not being properly addressed. This includes whole communities that are not served by any meaningful cycle network
I think these schemes are great in the right area. Why aren’t these being considered around new roads and new housing developments?

The wider B4063 Gloucester to Cheltenham cycleway scheme is the first phase of wider cycle and walking infrastructure to generate a 26-mile cycle spine between Stroud and Bishops Cleeve. Following completion of this section, plans are in place to continue the facilities through Gloucester City Centre and Gloucester Docks. Once completed, additional spurs from the route will be added, these will be prioritised based on cycle and walking demand along with access for communities.
Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs) set out the strategic approach to identifying long-term cycling and walking improvements. The authority is developing an overarching strategy that will consider connectivity across the county as well as developing LCWIPs in other areas of the region.
