Proposed improvements, and those already/nearly complete, will make my rides safer and will encourage less confident cyclists to use the route.
Through my profession, I meet many people who are put off cycling because they're scared to join motorised traffic on the roads. I know from experience that there's a growing interest locally in cycling....to school, to work to shops and for fun. I can sum up my feelings about the new scheme as....EXCITED!!!!!

Great idea as the current cycle lane is too close to traffic.

Commuted this stretch of the road on my bike for 5 years & experienced road rage from drivers many times. A cycle path would have significantly improved that experience.
Experienced many ‘near misses’ and road rage incidents, which have affected my willingness to allow my children to cycle these routes. A cycle path would have a huge impact and will undoubtedly save people from injury or death.
Current open stretch of the cycle route into Cheltenham has been a revelation and I can’t wait for the completion of the rest of it.
Too long in coming and this should only be the beginning.
Gloucestershire's roads aren't good for cycling and deter everyone. This scheme will help.

Really overdue, it's a flat route so will really make a massive difference to traffic.
It's been a long time coming! This is a really exciting project and similar schemes have been introduced in Bristol and London for a while.
I suspect you will get some opposition to this scheme, but it is very much appreciated by cyclists and let's hope that over time many more people will be convinced and gain that confidence to hop on two wheels.
Very pleased to see this scheme being rolled out. I feel that the car lobby has been very powerful in the past, but it seems that the balance is shifting.

Separating cyclists from other road traffic is a step in the right direction and could encourage more people to start riding a bicycle.
