Safeguarding Adults Training

Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB) offer the training needed to protect adults in Gloucestershire who have care and support needs. A recommended Training pathway for all organisations and partners is detailed below. Click each Level to find out which courses are recommended for you.  

The Safeguarding Level 1 Awareness training is an E-Learning module that provides an introduction to Safeguarding Adults.

 

Who is this course for?

This module is for anyone who comes into contact with adults who have care and support needs, and it is apart of their role to protect them from abuse and neglect. This includes reception/admin staff, personal assistants and family carers. 

 

This module looks at:

  • What abuse is
  • How to recognise it
  • What to do if you suspect and adults is being abused

 

How do I book myself on this training? 

This E-Learning is free to access for anyone working or living in Gloucestershire. You can access this E-learning Module via LearnPro Community.

Who is this course for?

This course is for all front line staff that have direct contact with adults with care and support needs.

 

This session will enable delegates to:

  • Understand what Safeguarding is, and their role in Safeguarding Adults
  • Identify an adult in potential need of Safeguarding 
    • Understand their responsibility to raise a concern within Gloucestershire's multi-agency safeguarding policies and procedures

 

How do I book myself on this training? 

This is a half day course that can be delivered either face to face or virtually within your own organisation by a GSAB approved safeguarding trainer or you can book your individual place on open courses.

Please note: You are required to complete the Level 1 E-learning prior to attending this course.


Who is this course for?

This course is recommended for professionals and managers with organisational responsibility for reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns.This includes Safeguarding Leads, Care Home Managers, and Primary care clinicians working to Level 3 (including GPs, practice nurses)

 

This training will enable delegates to:

  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the Safeguarding process
  • Appropriately support individuals to understand safeguarding and support decision making
  • Gain a knowledge of local and national policies, legislation and procedures.

 

How can I book a place on this course? 

The Safeguarding Adults Level 3 course is available as a remote learning programme using Zoom. All upcoming course dates are detailed on Learn Pro, you can book your place by logging onto your Learn Pro account.

GCC Adult Social Care Practitioners: A bespoke Safeguarding Adults Level 3 course is available as a remote learning programme using Webex, you can book your place via your Learn Pro account. 


 

Who is this course for?

This course is mandatory for Social Workers, Advanced practitioners, and all other roles that lead on Section 42 Enquiries.

 

The training includes:

It provides specialist training for investigators / professionals undertaking the lead role in Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries and focuses on the safeguarding process, providing expert input, and peer support.

 

How can I book a place on this course? 

This course is available as a remote learning programme using Webex, you can book your place via your Learn Pro account. 

 

In addition to this course, we now offer half day sessions on:

  • Self Neglect and Safeguarding Adults
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Chairing Safeguarding Adults meetings.

Please note, delegates must have attended Safeguarding Adults Level 4 prior to booking any of these sessions.


 

 

How often do I need to do this training?

The Level 1 - 4 Training courses are valid for three years, however we recommend employers assess individual knowledge and competence regularly and refreshing as appropriate

Proud to learn offers a variety of E-learning Modules and Training Courses that are hosted on LearnPro Community, this includes:

  • Introduction to Safeguarding Adults and Children in Gloucestershire
  • Mental Capacity Act
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
  • Safeguarding Leadership
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Modern Day Slavery 

These training packages are available for refresher training and have been updated to ensure they are Care Act Compliant.
