Highways Local
The “Highways Local” Scheme
This scheme provides an opportunity for County Councillors (Member) to help prioritise certain highway works in their constituency. The scheme provides £30,000 per Member, of which £20,000 must be spent on capital schemes. Members need to engage with their Local Highways Manager before the end of May to assist with:
Forward planning within the financial year

Determining the priorities for:
- targeting small areas of unsightly/worn out looking roads/footways
- safety led maintenance
- drainage repairs
- dropped kerbs to improve pedestrian crossing points
- re-pointing of highway retaining walls to maintain and improve appearance
