Disruption during construction
The work to create this would cause a huge amount of disruption.

There are many benefits to investing in active travel schemes. Cycle tracks can help to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by increasing the number of shorter trips made by bicycle. Cycling and walking can also help to promote physical activity and reduce obesity rates. The long-term benefits of cycle tracks can outweigh the costs, as reflected in the DfT value for money assessment toolkit. New cycle tracks can also attract new cyclists to the area and can help to raise awareness of cycling as a mode of transportation.
A ‘meet the contractor’ event will be held ahead of the start of construction, where residents and businesses will have the opportunity to discuss traffic management and potential impact of the works on their access and egress.
Throughout the construction stage, the appointed contractor will provide a regular update via newsletters, leaflets and social media posts. Regular updates on progress and roadworks will also be posted on the scheme webpage.
