Llantony Access Road

Background

The scheme is the next phase of improvements following the successful completion of the Gloucester South West Bypass – Llanthony Road widening. This scheme will introduce a new link between Sudmeadow Road and Hemmingsdale Road, enhancing local access following engagement with local businesses.

The new one-way link will enable traffic to access Sudmeadow Road directly from Llanthony Road via Hemmigsdale Road. This alleviates the necessity to drive down to the roundabout and travel back northbound. The proposal will create more convenient route and has network management benefits.

What is proposed?

The link road between Hemmingsdale Road and Sudmeadow Road will facilitate better vehicle access from the main Llanthony Bypass. The scheme will consist of the link road construction, new street lighting, relocation of gullies and new planting beds.

Construction information

Construction is set to begin from 10 March 2025.
