What are the environmental impacts of the new scheme?

What are the environmental impacts of the new scheme, and how will these be mitigated?

While the growth in capacity will bring more traffic into the site, the function is broadly the same and the design will be carefully designed to minimise the immediate environmental intrusion; therefore, neighbours will likely see only limited change. With increased numbers of cars intercepted at Arle Court, the environmental benefit for the wider residential locality will be decreased traffic, pollution and noise from ongoing journeys.

As part of the initial design stages, we are establishing a baseline biodiversity level at the Arle Court site and have an overall target of ten per cent net gain in biodiversity when the scheme is complete.

How will the visual impact of the site be mitigated?

We will be providing natural landscape screening along the large majority of the site boundary to provide privacy and amenity for local residents and businesses. This screening would be primarily made up of trees and shrubs.

How many Electric Vehicle (EV) charging spaces will be provided?

The concept design includes the provision of 100 EV charging spaces in the Multi-Story Car Park. The building structure will be designed to provide the opportunity to increase the number of EV charging spaces in the future, in line with demand. The scheme will also include solar cells to provide energy for the onsite EV charging bays.
