A435 Evesham Road Landslip

Due to landslip on A435 Evesham Road, south of the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway Bridge, land stabilisation work is required. This stabilisation work will involve installing a sheet piling retaining wall in the bank and re-instatement of the road surface.

The scheme began on the 4th November 2024 and programmed to be completed at the beginning of February 2025. For the duration of the works, a lane closure with two-way traffic lights will remain in place and access along A435 Evesham Road will continue to be maintained.

Following recent further land slip and resulting road surface movement and cracking, this land stabilisation work is to be brought forward ahead of the planned A435 Cheltenham to Bishop's Cleeve Cycleway Section 2 works.

Until these works can be undertaken, a temporary lane closure with two-way traffic lights is required. This is to prevent further significant landslip and protect the safety of road users, whilst maintaining access along A435 Evesham Road.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused to highway users as a result of this landslip.
