21 August 2025 Section 2 update

A two-week full road closure extension until September 22 is required due to additional work being identified for utility diversions and structural works on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR) Bridge, which have unfortunately impacted the planned construction work schedule.

New pedestrian and cycle crossings now in place at the Wellington Road / A435 Evesham Road junction

Installation of the new pedestrian / cyclist and traffic signals at the Wellington Road / A435 Evesham Road junction has now been completed. Pedestrians and cyclists will now be able to make use of dedicated push button signals across 3 arms of the junction, providing much safer crossings than previously.

The new segregated cycleway alongside the alongside the A435 Evesham Road between Wellington Road and Central Cross Drive is now also fully open for use, along with the new link paths to the inner park footway.

Construction work started 6 January 2025 on Section 2 Phase 1 - Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway to Bishop's Cleeve Roundabout and Wellington Road to Central Cross Drive

Construction work on these sections of the A435 cycleway started on Monday 6 January 2025.

Construction work completed on Section 1 - Honeybourne Line to Racecourse Roundabout

Construction work on this section of the A435 Cycleway has now been completed, with the cycleway now open for use.
