Project update

Work has been progressing steadily on the scheme and we have now completed installing the 68 piles required to help stabilise the road and enable reconstruction work to begin.

The installed piles have been cropped to height to enable us to begin construction of the friction slab which will form the basis of the reconstructed road and parapet.

The friction slab is made up of the 45 precast units, which you will have seen being stored on site. Over the last few weeks the team have been busy installing them and work on the slab is now nearing completion.

Look ahead

Over the next month we will install the remaining friction slab units, cast the concrete

connection and install the waterproofing layer onto all the units.

Once completed work will then begin on the installation of the new drainage system, including new gullies and water run-off catchpits. We will also begin work on backfilling the road.
