Overview of Gloucestershire County Council and National Numeracy’s partnership on the Multiply programme

Gloucestershire County Council have been working with National Numeracy for two years on the Multiply programme. National Numeracy’s work and learning provision focuses on providing a stepping stone into learning for those with the biggest barriers and those furthest away from employment or education.

Numeracy Champions

We trained 108 Numeracy Champions in Gloucestershire organisations across these sectors:

  • Primary School Staff - 26%
  • Adult Education - 19%
  • Local Councils - 14%
  • Training Provider - 13%
  • NHS - 8%
  • Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) - 8%
  • Housing Association - 4%
  • Commercial Organisations - 2%
  • Volunteers - 2%
  • Adult Social Care - 1%
  • Charities - 1%
  • Financial Coaches - 1%
  • Emergency Services - 1%

National Numeracy Challenge stats

  • Total National Numeracy Challenge learners in Gloucestershire: 1,063
  • How many learners improved their skills on the Challenge: 312 (29%)
  • How many of these total learners were Multiply eligible: 296
  • How many Multiply eligible learners improved their skills on the Challenge: 94 (31%)
